Week end of hard work
This week end we work a lot on the assembly of the BadPrinter2, after a first assembly that allow to see if all the parts match we disassembly and paint the frame in a very cool black matte finish. then we start reassembling all the parts.
Now it looks more like the 3D rendered images
In the meanwhile we are testing deeply the new J-head and the bowden extruder obtained by modifying the QU-BD extruder and using the old BadPrinter1 as a test bed. After some difficulties in calibrating the temperature and to obtain the correct extrusion speed we start printing a lot of test parts to find the best slicing parameters.
Printing with PLA required to add a fan that cool down the cold end of the J-head for a better results.
Next steps will be to complete the electronics and mount the J-head+Bowden extruder on the new machine and start the first mechanical and electronics checks.
As a comparison of our 3D printer generations, here the BadPrinter2 near the monster
